Chicken Biriyani

Biryani is a mixed rice dish from the Indian Subcontinent. It is made with spices, rice and meat or vegetables. Chicken Biriyani is one of the simple chicken recipes which can be easily made though it requires more ingredients.

Ingredients

1. Basmati Rice – 2 Cup
2. Chicken – 1 kg
3. Onion – 3 Nos
4. Tomato -3 Nos
5. Chilly powder – 1 spoon
6. Coriander powder -1 spoon
7. Garam masala – 1 spoon
8. Oil – 2 spoon
9. Turmeric -1/4 spoon
10. Ginger garlic paste- 1 spoon
11. Cloves – 2 Nos
12. Cinnamon – 3 Nos
13. Cashewnuts – 10 Nos
14. Raisins – 10 Nos
15. Ghee -2 spoon
16. Yogurt – 1 Cup
17. Salt – 3 spoon
18. Coriander leaves

How to prepare

1. Soak the rice for about 30 minutes and cook it for about 50%-70%

2. In a bowl add chicken, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, salt, chilly powder, garam masala. Mix it well and keep it for minimum 30 minutes.

3. Heat ghee in a pan and fry raisins, cashewnuts and 1 onion.

4. Now fry the chicken in oil.

5. In another pan heat oil and fry the remaining onions till it is golden brown colour. To this add turmeric powder, salt and tomatoes. Cook till the tomatoes are soft. To this add chilly powder, coriander powder, green chilly, curd and coriander leaves and little water.

6. To this add the fried chicken along with cooked rice and lemon juice.

7. Also add fried onions, cashewnuts and raisins cover the pan with a lid.

8. Now heat a tawa on a medium flame, put the pan on the tawa and cook it for about 15 minutes.

9. Serve the hot biriyani along with boiled egg salad, lime pickle.
